Official Rules: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. MUST BE A STUDENT ENROLLED IN SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY SCHOOLS (ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE OR HIGH SCHOOL) TO ENTER.
THE CONTEST: The “Baron P. Braswell II Run Against Teen Violence Tee shirt Design Contest” entrants must submit a race day tee shirt design inspired creatively by a graphic drawing depicting theme “running against teen violence / youth violence in our community”. Tee shirt design entrants should submit artwork to be considered for the 14th Annual Baron P. Braswell II Run /Walk Against Teen Violence, based on Official Rules. The contest can be entered as a single entity or as a team (classmates, student / parent, etc.). Cash prizes will be divided equally amongst team members.
PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected and awarded a $100.00 cash prize. In addition to the cash prizes the winners will receive a free tee shirt displaying the winning design. The winners will be named on www.braswellrun.com website and on the Braswellrun Face Book page. The tee shirt design will be displayed in poster format at the 14th Annual Run Against Teen Violence, which will be held on the 21st of September 2019, at Courtland High School.
SPONSOR: Gwendolyn S. Braswell-Nash is the sponsor and administrator of the Contest and is responsible for the fulfillment of the prizes. Entrants should look solely to Gwen BraswellNash at [email protected] with any questions, comments or problems related to the Contest.
ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open only to students enrolled in Spotsylvania County Schools (Elementary, Middle or High School).
CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest runs from May 31, 2019 at 12:01 am EST and ends July 8, 2019 at 11:59 pm EST (“Contest Period”). The contest will have two (2) phases including the submission phase and the voting phase. The submission phase will run through July 9, 2019. This means your tee-shirt design will be submitted to the judges for review. The voting phase will begin on July 23, 2019 and run through August 19, 2019. Winners will be notified, and the winner will be announced on or before August 26, 2019. The winners will be awarded their prizes on the 21st of September 2019, during the awards ceremony at the 14th Annual Baron P. Braswell II Run Against Teen Violence.
GUIDELINES: Designs can include up to 3-colors, not including the base color of the shirt and must have the name “14th Annual Baron P. Braswell II Run Against Teen Violence” on it somewhere. All submissions must be in vector PDF, Adobe Illustrator or .EPS format. Any other file format will not be accepted.
HOW TO ENTER: Entries can be submitted by e-mail at [email protected] Entries should include, date of entry, school affiliation, a short narrative explaining your poster / tee shirt design and your contact information. By entering, contestant’s warrant that the design submitted is their own original creation and that no entry infringes on another contestant or person’s rights. Any use of any photo, drawing, images or elements created by any other person, is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification. BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, CONTESTANT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HIS/HER ENTRY MAY BE POSTED ON SPONSOR’S TEE SHIRT, WEBSITE, FACE BOOK PAGE AND EDITED, IN SPONSOR’S DISCRETION.
WINNER SELECTION: All entries will be judged by a panel of judges comprised of creative professionals based on the following criteria: a.) originality, b.) creativity of activity c.) Appropriateness to Contest Theme of “Running Against Teen Violence”. In the event of a tie, an additional judge will be added to the panel. Decisions of the judges shall be final in all matters related to this Contest.
WINNER VALIDATION: The Grand Prize Winner and Finalists will be will be notified by e-mail and telephone. If two or more persons work together and submit the one winning entry, the prize will be split equally among the contestants named on the winning entry.
GENERAL TERMS: By participating in the Contest, contestants warrant and represent that none of the material submitted or posted infringes upon or otherwise violates the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other intellectual or proprietary rights of any person or entity and that they have fully complied with the Official Rules. Prize acceptance constitutes permission (except where prohibited) to use winner’s name, likeness and entry (in whole or in part) for publicity purposes in all forms of media including the worldwide Internet without additional compensation, notification or permission. CONTESTANTS AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE OFFICIAL RULES AND THE DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES AND TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS SPONSOR, ITS RELATED COMPANIES, OFFICERS, PRIZE SUPPLIERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS FROM AND AGAINST ANY LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR ANY CLAIMS, COSTS, INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST, OR THE DOWNLOADING, ACCESSING OR SUBMISSION OF ENTRY MATERIALS.
